In May, we shared news of United VARs new CSR project taking place in the Santa María de la Armonía project in Argentina, 380 km from Buenos Aires. We have just received an update from Nadine Urbansky, project manager at Kleine Hilfsaktion, the NGO overseeing the works, as well as photos from United VARs member, Damian Szulman from Seidor Argentina, taken one week after the project started.

Nadine reports that “la Armonia selected 18 families with the biggest challenges and most basic needs. The families consist of 82 family members, 42 of which are children and the prerequisite for being selected was that at least one of these children is, or was part of, the project in La Armonia.

The selection process entailed compiling a list of the deficiencies, as well as cost estimates, all of which were sent to United VARs for their examination. What was identified was a lack of plumbing, electrical work, plastering and roofs on the existing houses.”

Nadine continued by saying that “the first money was sent to Argentina in June, at which time the materials were bought and delivered. Work has already started for four families, with another three families to work with the first week in July and then another four planned for the next stage, and so on.

Kleine Hilfsaktion is a small, non-profit association based in Germany, with a mandate to provide help in a very direct and non-bureaucratic manner. The Charity has collaborated with United VARs on our CSR projects in the following locations:

· Cambodia, which was to help provide access to clean water

· Tanzania in 2020, where we helped with building an orphanage and school.

We will continue to provide updates about what is happening in Santa Maria de la Armonía and you can read more about it on our CSR page for this year’s project in Argentina, including how to donate. Many thanks for joining our fundraising drive.
