- 9th October, Hanoi, Vietnam -

United VARs highlighted our continued growth and positive engagement in the APJ region as 13 members met for the second APJ Regional Summit in Hanoi, Vietnam from 7-9 October.

Hanoi’s central location in the region made it an ideal venue, along with Vietnam’s strong growth which exemplifies the opportunities for United VARs in the APJ region. The three new members we welcomed to the summit show how we are grasping these opportunities; BGS (Korea) and Systex (Taiwan) are from countries where we have been eagerly seeking new members, and Q-Zing (China) represents our continuing growth there. We had excellent support for the summit from ETC, United VAR’s Vietnam member.

The summit focused successfully on sharing experience and learning from each other honestly and openly as members of the United VAR/SAP family. Rajamani Srinivason, SAP’s VP Partner Programmes and Development for APJ, set the tone by staying for the full two days of the summit after his keynote address.

His presence, along with that of Anna Masters who spoke about Next Generation Partnering, Martin Pock who shared his experience with the 2BM packaged solution and co-operation with UVARs, and several SAP enablement speakers, demonstrated the power and potential of close collaboration between UVARs and SAP.

UVAR members shared their experience of best practice with specific SAP products through Sales, Marketing and Delivery. This, combined with SAP’s inputs, generated productive discussion both amongst the UVAR members and between the UVAR members and SAP representatives. A pre-summit workshop enabled members from several countries to present their pitch for portfolio solutions to add to the discussion.

The feedback from the summit was that it enabled United VAR members and key partners to share their experience and best practice, to challenge each other constructively and to learn and grow together, not as competitors but as part of a family. We look forward to continuing with this spirit and approach in future summits.
