The Spanish company, Greenalia, bases its regenerative development model on three fundamental pillars: Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) with a strategic growth plan that is based exclusively on renewable energy projects battling climate change.
The company uses the wind, sun, and biomass from certified plantations to produce and store electricity in harmony with nature, bringing innovation and green jobs to all the areas where it operates. Headquartered in Coruňa, it works across Europe (the Iberian Peninsula and the Canary Islands) and the United States. With the construction of its Curtis-Teixeiro biomass plant, it has put on the table one of the most important renewable energy projects in southern Europe in forest biomass.
Seidor, a member of United VARs, has accompanied Greenalia on its digital transformation journey, especially in its forestry business, from an initial implementation of SAP-based on Best Practices to the development of a forestry vertical that allows support for the entire life cycle of wood. The activity manages different processes, from wood certification to the buying and selling of wood, ending with the management of biomass for its transformation into electricity. All internal and external processes are complemented with mobile applications for transport management, transferring a zero-paper model to the entire life cycle.
Seidor has worked with Greenalia to digitize the Biomass treatment operation within the SAP ecosystem, developing an application using SAP BTP and SAP Mobile Services. Due to the characteristics of the environment in which it’s managed, including the usability and agility criteria, it had to be able to work 100% in offline mode and be fully integrated with the monitors of its forest vertical.
Through this application, Greenalia has achieved real-time visibility of the biomass plant procurement process and the elimination of the entire process of paper management and manual reporting, simplifying administrative processes immensely.
This project won the 12th SAP Quality Awards in Spain under the Digital Pioneers category. Greenalia S.A. was recognized for the development of a mobile application to support the key field operations processes of Greenalia Biomass Supply equipment, which Seidor helped to implement.
